sniper,i think the key for me is not doin too much too soon,i take what my body gives me,sometimes its not easy being patient if youre as sick of being obese as i am but now it is payin off,i did 2 miles this mornin,i could have done 3 times that but i like to leave a little in the tank so i wont get wore down and not go back out this evenin, there seems to be a very fine line between not doin enough and doin too much,,i hate to use this phrase but it is right on,ive learned to listen to what my legs and feet are tellin me..hang in there sniper.

I don't know of a specific warm weather sock per say. If it is heat you are trying to avoid, shoe design is most important. As for socks, if you do the opposite of me and buy quality, you can't go wrong. The other day I saw Under Armor has socks now. They seem to put out a quality product.

As an athlete there is no better sock than a THORLO. I buy 10 pair every 3 years. They are thick and take a good beating. There are strict guidelines to washing them. The best sock I have ever worn. Check out their site.

You can even call and ask for 2nds, half the price and no noticeable defects at all.

For walking, any good running shoe should work. The less leather, the better displacement of heat. If your budget allows, spend at least $50 and you can't go wrong. Never heard anything bad about New Balance. They also have a good selection of EE and above. Some of their top models are even made in the USA. I am partial to Adidias, but like I said, different brands are basically the same quality in any given price category. The trick is finding the right design and fit.
